The winter of 1978 - 79 was known at the time as 'The winter of discontent', due to industrial unrest. This programme looks at the effects in Swindon. There is an information section made by the local branch of the union NUPE, showing their members work and working conditions, what was happening on the ground (and as you will see under it!) followed by a studio discussion hosted by the WEA.
