First Broadcast:
Sep 12 1974
People in Pinehurst made this programme about the need for playschemes. First of all they examine the issue of vandalism and the needs of young people, then visit the new Richard Jeffries adventure playgrounds and finally look at the experimental scheme in Pinehurst during 1974, interviewing children and parents. There is some tape damage, but excusable in such a historic tape. Some of the earliest playworkers are interviewed.

1. City streets are
City streets are unsatisfactory playgrounds for children because of the danger, because most good games are against the law, microsoft exam because they are too hot in summer, and because in crowded sections of the city they are apt to be schools of crime. Neither do small back yards nor ornamental grass plots meet the needs of any but the very small children.
