A great way to brush up on Swindon's history. This film was made recently to celebrate the bicentenary of the engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel, who's locomotive factory and village was responsible for the large town we see today. It looks at the historical legacy of Brunel's decision to site his factory here, and the unique cultural history of the town that then rapidly grew. It follows by asking where we are going and examines current plans for Swindon's development.
