Bathampton Street, Co-op, 1921

New Swindon Idustrial Co-operative Society Diamond Jubilee celebrations, August 1921. This was the children's fancy dress procession during the exhibition week. The picture was taken on Bathampton street towards the Mechanics Institute.

Beatrice Street Lake and gardens 1910

George Whitehead, property developer and Landlord of the Princess Hotel in Beatrice Street converted an old claypit at the back of the hotel into a pleasure lake in the early years of the century. He charged one penny for admission. The Council filled it in 1973 and it is now part of St Mark's Recreation ground
