College Street Girls School May Day Celebrations, 1927/28 The school was closed in 1961 and demolished for the development of The Parade shopping centre.

Built by the GWR in 1873 for the education of children of employees, it was demolished in 1961 to construct 'The Parade'. Stonework bearing the name of the school can still be seen in the passageway between College Street and the Parade
