Swindon Round Table to PLOD for Charity
Members of Swindon Round Table will be walking the 40-mile Cotswold PLOD starting at midnight on June 7th 2013. It will take us all night and most of the following day to complete. We're raising money for Action Medical Research, a great children's charity dedicated to improving the health of babies and children in the UK. For almost 60 years the charity has been behind numerous breakthroughs such as the UK polio vaccine, ultrasound scanning in pregnancy, and more recently the fetal heart rate monitor a new state-of-the-art device that could help save thousands of at-risk babies.

Our world is complicated enough and one surprisingly simple change will benefit your health, the environment and animals. Going vegetarian isn’t rocket science, it’s just delicious.

Summer Fun and Games Day Bake a Cake or Make a Posy Competitions
To celebrate the queen's coronation jubilee and the legacy from the London Games Swindon Walcot and Parks Community Group are inviting Parks and Walcot residents to enter a competion to bake and decorate a coronation cake and make a posy fit for the queen. The judging will take place on June 1st in Buckhurst Park Community Centre at 2 p.m. during a Summer Fun and Games Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the centre and on Buckhurst Recreational Field.

Highworth Roman May Day Event

Victory for Swindon Brass!!
After 8 years in the bottom half of the 4th section, Swindon Brass have finally done it! The band attended the West of England Regionals in Torquay on the 9th of march, and came 3rd! With a possible promotion in sight, Swindon Brass also get to go to the Finals in cheltenham in mid september. "The band have come a long way in the past few months, and its all through the support of our Musical Director, Mr Francis Cowley. He's an inspiration."

Car broken into on the Ridgeway at Ashbury Hill
A warning to fellow walkers: Having finally found a peaceful and safe setting to walk our labrador we were badly shaken on returning to our vehicle to find the rear passenger window smashed and a very hidden hand bag missing. Left in the middle of nowhere with no phone in the freezing cold on Sunday 24th February at 2pm we had to flag a passing car down to contact the police.
